Profile
Hilary Velandia specializes in health care law and assists health care providers regarding regulatory compliance, litigation, and transactional matters. She represents many types of health care entities, such as hospitals, health plans, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities, home health care providers, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, and physician groups. She has represented health care providers in agency licensing matters, agency investigations, overpayment appeals, Medicaid contract terminations, and various types of litigation. She also assists health care entities and providers with operational issues, such as Conditions of Participation, EMTALA, and HIPAA, and fraud and abuse issues, such as antikickback and Stark.
Hilary also assists child care facilities in successfully navigating child care licensing matters, including appeals of adverse licensing decisions.
Hilary attended the University of Kansas School of Law, where she was Articles Editor for the Kansas Law Review. She is fluent in Spanish and provides pro bono services to members of the Spanish-speaking community through Catholic Charities. She currently serves as the president of the Oklahoma Bar Association Health Law Section and is the former President of the Oklahoma Health Lawyers Association.
