Through formal and informal programs, Connecting Women fosters connectivity and creates venues for enhanced mentoring, leadership, professional development, and networking opportunities for the firm’s women attorneys and paralegals. This initiative is multifaceted. Internally, we devote resources to assisting our professional women in advancing their careers while balancing family and community responsibilities. Externally, we concentrate on involvement with other professional women and with our communities. Connecting With the Firm
Conner & Winters has been successful in recruiting, retaining, and advancing talented women professionals. In addition to constituting a substantial percentage of the firm overall, women hold leadership positions within the firm and participate in firm management, including serving on the Executive Committee and the Compensation Committee, acting as practice group leaders and serving as committee chairs and committee members. In addition, our women exchange information, discuss topics of mutual interest, and share concerns through formal and informal mentoring and through relaxed social gatherings.
Connecting With the Legal Profession
Conner & Winters understands that each professional woman faces a challenge in achieving balance between her legal practice and her non-professional life. In addition to routine continuing legal education on substantive law matters, the firm provides opportunities for education specifically directed at female practitioners on subjects such as work-life balance and marketing from a women’s prospective. Designed in part to create unique client development opportunities for women attorneys, Connecting Women has successfully hosted annual social events for regional women business leaders and professionals. These events provide a vehicle for networking opportunities and also facilitate the exchange of ideas among women both inside and outside the legal arena.

Connecting Women is also committed to community outreach and service. Our firm is proud of to support the efforts of our firm’s female attorneys and paralegals who spend many hours serving on boards and committees for area non-profits, community organizations, trade associations and other entities.
