Conner & Winters Celebrates Strength of Diversity During Pride Month
Conner & Winters recognizes Pride month as a celebration of the gay, bi-sexual, lesbian, transgender, and queer community. Diversity and inclusivity are core tenets at Conner & Winters, and we join pride celebrations around our offices and across the nation in showing support for the LGBTQI+ community!
LGBTQI+ people are our friends, neighbors, colleagues, parishioners, clients, alumni, staff, and family. We're proud to acknowledge the many ways they enrich our communities and contribute to our vibrant cultural fabric.
The strength of our state and our nation has always been in the diversity of our people. Hatred and bigotry towards anyone runs counter to our Oklahoma values and our spiritual beliefs. We will always stand against those who would mistreat anyone on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, gender, religion, disability, age, language, or background.
Whether you are straight, gay, transgender, queer, bi-sexual, or gender non-confirming, you are a person who deserves respect and dignity. That includes exercising the same freedoms and receiving the same protections that we are all entitled to as Americans.
Diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice are all core tenets that our firm has extolled throughout our 90 years. We support the incredible contributions that our attorneys and alumni have made to help advance LGBTQI+ initiatives. Last fall, Kerri Kobbeman provided pro bono legal service for the LGBT name change clinic through Vector Health and Legal Aid of Arkansas. Firm alumnus Dennis Neill co-founded and served as the first president of Oklahomans for Equality, and is the namesake for the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center in Tulsa.
We're excited to celebrate love, diversity and everything that brings us together this Pride month!
