Matthew J. Allen was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1980. Mr. Allen graduated from the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics in 1998, the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in 2003 and with a J.D. in 2007. In law school, Mr. Allen was awarded the CALI Award of Excellence in Property Law and was initiated as a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity. Mr. Allen’s practice specializes in oil and gas conservation matters before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, including practice before the Commission in both legislative and adjudicative proceedings. Mr. Allen is a member of the Mineral Lawyers Society of Oklahoma City, the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Additionally, Mr. Allen was named to the Journal Record’s Achievers Under 40 Class of 2016. Other interests include serving on the Board of Trustees for the Beta Theta Pi Corporation of Oklahoma and the leadership group for the League of Oklahomans for Change in Alcohol Laws (aka “LOCAL”), a grassroots consumer lobbying organization, and also Mr. Allen served as a past president of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Society.
